Joan "Joanie" Lareta Waldron

Joan Lareta Allen, affectionately known as Joanie, passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2025, at the age of 71, born on May 18th, 1954, Joanie lived a life defined by love, resilience, and devotion to those around her.

A proud mother of six, she faced heartbreak with grace as she mourned the loss of three of her children—Heidi, Kenny, and later Christopher—who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving children Jeff, Sarah and Britni as well as her longtime partner Joseph Yracheta who carry her memory and spirit forward.

Joanie spent most of her adult life serving others as an in-home health care provider. With compassion and dedication, she cared for the sick, elderly, and vulnerable, offering not just physical support but emotional comfort to those in need. Her work was more than a profession—it was a calling that reflected the deep kindness and empathy she brought to the world.

Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her family. As a grandmother to 18 grandchildren, Joanie found endless joy in their laughter, accomplishments, and presence.

Joanie will be remembered for her unwavering strength, gentle humor, and the way she made everyone feel truly seen and loved.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor July 19th 11 am 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121
