
John "Jack" Reaves, 91, died peacefully at the VAMC on May 1, 2012. He was born on July 3, 1920 in Lumberton, NC, spent childhood years around Martinsburg, WV, worked many years as an electrical engineer, and ultimately settled in San Diego, as an accountant for small businesses. John served in the Navy during WWII, attended MIT, taught physics, and was a loving father. He is survived by two children: Allan of Kalapana, HI and Nanci (and husband Phil Nadeau) of Cardinal, VA, granddaughter Allie Nadeau, as well as brother Frank (and wife Jane) of Potomac, MD, and many nieces, nephews and friends, especially Maura Brown. His favorite activities in his later years were dancing and juggling. Nanci and Allan extend their gratitude to the VAMC and Lightbridge Hospice for their loving care during his illness.
