

Josefa Tydingco San Nicolas, 85 years of age, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on March 13, 2023.
Josefa was born on June 23, 1937 in Guam to the late Jose Cruz Tydingco and Dolores Aflleje Tydingco. She was the last surviving child of 16 children. She attended school in Guam and graduated from George Washington High School in 1956.
Josefa was married to Joaquin S.N. San Nicolas for 66 years. She made many friends throughout her life and moved around the country with her husband who was in the U.S. Navy. Josefa and her family finally settled in San Diego after her husband retired from the Navy in 1977.
Josefa enjoyed going to the local casinos and loved cooking for her family. She enjoyed taking care of her grandkids and was an avid San Diego Padres fan. She loved attending parties and events with the local Chamorro community. She was a founding member of the Agat Social Club and a long time member of the Sons and Daughters of Guam club.
Josefa is survived by her husband, Joaquin S.N. San Nicolas and her children, Kenny (Norma), Bobbie Minton (Steve), John, Mike (Karla), Joyce Meshell and Ricky (Maritza).
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nikki Minton-Saldana (Juan), Cari Minton-Aceves (David), Jon Minton (Stephanie), Alex Minton (Stephanie Miguel); Gabby and Junior; A.J., Brandi, and Joseph; and Hayden Meshell. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, Connor, Jayde, Hunter, Grace, Gunnar, Bennett, Dawn and Emmett and a host of nephews and nieces.
