     I was so sorry to hear about Joe's passing.  Mrs. Gonzales told me on her Christmas card.  
     I have wonderful memories from our street.  Joe was such an excellent neighbor and friend to us.  
     Daddy thought the world of Joe.  Joe was always so kind to visit with him.

Dear Ress Family,   Gary and I just returned from two weeks in the Northeast, visiting Scott and his family and friends in Connecticut.   When we got the news of Joe's passing, we were so sad we could not join you for his memorial service.   On that day we thought of each one of you, remembering your love for that amazing man who loved everyone and was able to show it so uniquely.   Joe touched so many lives, loved his family deeply, and he truly made a difference in this world.   We just looked at the photos which reminded us of his loving and accepting nature.  Since Joe and my Dad were close friends, even sharing the same December 12th birthday, we are sure they are happily catching up with each other in heaven. Thank you for sharing Josephs photo gallery.  I never realized he had six children!  What a beautiful family he has.  You all must be very proud of him.  He is a very dedicated and loving father. Forty-six years of memories are hard to put in a small square, but Joe's love of his family will always be remembered and his faithfulness to serving the Lord's people.
Our two families will remember each Dec 12 the small frog birthday card we originally sent to Joe that somehow returned to Ed the next year and went back and forth for 30 years.  We shall miss you Joe.  God bless your family with lots of good memories for the years ahead.

We have such wonderful memories of Joe! I always giggle when I think of the baptism classes my cousin, Jeremy Norton, and I took with him.  Joe definitely got the last laugh! We will definitely miss him at the Chula Vista congregation.

I will certainly be missing his "atta girl" hugs.  Always kind to everyone.  Joe will certainly be missed.

There are no words to describe the sadness we felt when we heard the news that Joe has left us.  He has always been such a joy and inspiration to us.  We will not be able to attend the memorial but we will be thinking about and thanking God for Joe in our lives.  The world is a better place because he was in it.
