Josephine Patinella was born in the city of Lercara Friddi, Italy on January 21, 1907. She was the daughter of Salvatore and Rose DiPrima. Her siblings were: Jack, Salvatore, Prudy, Joseph, and Mary. Josephine was the last of her siblings to live to the age of 110. She came to America at the age of fourteen with her mother and two brothers, Jack and Salvatore. They lived in Brooklyn, New York. Josephine was determine to learn English so she taught herself to read and write in the language. She was very talented in sewing and learned fast that she could make a living at this occupation. Ten years later the rest of her family came to America. Josephine was married to Frank Patinella on March 6, 1938. They were happily married for forty-five years. She gave birth to three girls, Dorothy, Rose, and Joan. She has eight grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Family was her pride and joy. She loved to cook for all her family and friends. Josephine Patinella was a woman of great faith. There was not a day that she didn’t devote herself to the Lord. Her greatest wish and deepest desire was for all her family to walk with Jesus. Josephine lived a long faithful life serving the Lord. She was one of a kind. We will cherish all the good memories. She will forever be loved and missed.
