It is with great sadness that the family of Jovita Gonzales Balite announces her passing on Friday January 31, 2020 at the age of 66. Jovita was in the comfort of her home in Chula Vista, California and with family at her side. Jovita was born June 16, 1953 in Botolan Zambalas Philippines to Vicente and Marciana Raquidan Gonzales. Jovita studied Cosmetology before moving to the United States of America at the age of 23. She became a dedicated and diligent Quality Inspector for an electronics company before retiring after 30 years. She loved hosting get-togethers, dancing, singing Karaoke, and cooking delicious meals that always fed an army.
Jovita will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Mario, their three children, daughter Marjoriemay (John) Thomas, son Marvin (Jacqueline) Balite, and daughter Marjee Balite. She will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren, Makena, Emma Vie, Sonora, and Asher King, her siblings, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jovita was predeceased by her brothers Vicente Gonzales Jr. and Rizal Gonzales.
Visitations will be held on Thursday February 13 and Friday February 14 4:00pm-8:00pm at El Camino Memorial -Sorrento Valley 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego CA 92121. A vigil will commence at 6pm on Friday February 14.
A Catholic mass will be celebrated in memory of Jovita Gonzales Balite on Saturday February 15 at 10:00 am, at St. Mary's Catholic Church 426 East 7th Street National City, CA 91950, with Associate Pastor Romeo Velos presiding. Internment will follow at El Camino Memorial-Sorrento Valley.
