Kathryn Lucille Renwick
August 27, 1940 – February 2, 2019
Our thanks to God for giving us the gift of Kathryn Renwick, a woman who made the world a better place in the way she chose to believe in and support those she shared her time with. Kate was full of advice without judgement, giving without expecting, listening without interrupting, and Love: lots and lots of Love.
Kate was an adventurous spirit: she traveled the globe with her husband John and her two kids, one of whom was conceived and born in Tehran, Iran of all places. Nothing like a blonde-headed boy being born in Iran. She continued to enjoy travel later in life, spending many summers exploring the natural beauty of our United States, RVing with John.
She is a true believer in God. The use of present tense is not a typo as, based on her faith, she is in Heaven watching over us all now. She was not an evangelist, but had deeply rooted beliefs she was willing to share on request. Beliefs that increasingly became the guiding influence in her life. She started as an unruly child, transitioned into a fun-loving beautiful young adult, and through her love of and care for family, became a practitioner of great acts of Love and faith in God.
Kate's life cannot possibly be encapsulated in this caption. She was a powerful force in a demure container. We will miss her presence, but we'll continue to rely on her guidance.
A funeral service will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church in San Diego, CA. Memorial donations to California Pro Life Council, Disabled American Veterans, or the Sisters of Carmel in lieu of flowers are appreciated.
