

A loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, Kevin possessed a wonderful combination of traits exhibited in how he lived his life and interacted with people. He was kind, patient, and caring. Kevin had the ability to make those around him, whether it was military generals or admirals, high powered executives or his youngest great nephew and nieces, feel safe and valued. A strong level of devotion and respect followed him everywhere he went. He will be remembered for his unconditional love of God and family, strong faith, integrity and resiliency.
Born in Tucson, Arizona, he graduated and completed both his undergraduate studies and Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona. He came to San Diego in 1983 to take a position at the Naval Ocean Systems Center (NOSC) in Point Loma where he worked for 39 years and retired from NIWC Pacific as Chief Technology Officer working with various branches of the U.S. Military.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Mary Lynn (Tarantino), brothers Jeff and Greg Boner, brothers-in-law Frank (Loren) Tarantino, Philip (Marian) Tarantino, nephews Joey (V.V.), Daniel (Michelle), Bryan (fiancée Brianna) and Mathew Tarantino, his great nephew, and nieces (Lucca and Ella Tarantino, Austyn and Aspen Tarantino) and cousins of the Boner/Nicholson families. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Dimple (Nicholson) Boner.
Viewing will be held at Pacific Beach/La Jolla Chapel (4710 Cass Street, Pacific Beach, Ca 92109) at 9am on Tuesday, September 13 followed by funeral services and entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum.
