Larry Johnnie Pugliese

Larry was born in Sacramento to Frances and Johnnie Pugliese, joining his older sister, Judy. He grew up in Roseville, where he developed an early love of baseball. At just 12 years old, Larry was selected to play for Roseville’s Little League All-Stars and had an impressive 10–0 pitching record that year, finishing the season undefeated.

During his summers, Larry worked at Wil-Mar Orchard, a plum ranch in Loomis, making boxes alongside other members of his family. His grandfather served as the foreman there, making those summer days a special and memorable part of Larry’s childhood.

Larry graduated from Roseville High School in 1973, attended Sierra College, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from California State University, Sacramento, in 1979. Throughout his school years, he was recognized for perfect attendance and consistently earned a place on the honor roll—reflecting the dedication and determination that would remain a part of him throughout his life.

Shortly after college, Larry moved to the San Diego area, where he began his career in financial services in 1981. He became a dedicated and successful Financial Advisor, building a career that spanned more than 40 years. He spent many years with Wells Fargo Advisors and most recently continued his career with Morgan Stanley. Larry was highly respected by his clients and colleagues for his knowledge, commitment, integrity, and genuine care for those he served.

Larry met his beloved wife, Karen, in San Diego, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. During their 34 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling, discovering new places, sharing dinners out with friends, and spending time with the people they loved. They were also devoted dog parents to their beloved Sofie, who was an important and much-loved part of their family. Above all, Larry treasured the life he and Karen created together and the many experiences they shared along the way.

Larry is survived by his wife, Karen; his sister, Judy Aguilar (Tom); nieces Jacqueline (Rick) Kennedy and Jillian (Scott) Campagne; grandnieces Addilyn and Payton Kennedy; aunts Carnie Noel and Patricia Byrnes; and many cousins, dear friends, coworkers, and colleagues. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Sofie.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances, in 2015, and his father, Johnnie, in 1992.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lotus Chapel at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121. A reception will follow from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at the Reflections Venue.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Larry’s hometown area of Roseville.

Larry will be remembered not only for his integrity, dedication, and kindness, but for the way he made people feel. He was someone others could count on—a trusted advisor, loyal friend, devoted husband, and caring family member. His quiet strength, warmth, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Larry’s life was defined by the people he loved, the friendships he treasured, the work he took pride in, and the simple joys he shared with Karen, Sofie, family, and friends. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, friendship, and countless stories that will continue to be shared for years to come. Though he is deeply missed, his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
