Lauren was born on June 3, 1931 in San Quintin, Pangasinan, Philippines to Francisco and Victoria Marigsa. From an early age, the family was known for their strength, humility, and generosity. She was raised on a farmland and grew up with 5 brothers: Fidel, Juan, Lope, Godofredo and Alejandro (preceded in death by 2 more brothers: Crispolu and Mario).
Her father was a leader of a marching band and played for several events, which contributed to her passion for music. Lauren helped manage this family business- serving others and helping the farming community.
She graduated in economics at the Luna and Dagupan colleges in the Philippines. Growing up, she was constantly courted by Emilio Arabe and eventually married in 1955. Shortly after, she had her first son Emmanuel followed by Marwin, her daughters- Marissa and Arabella, and her son, Lorimel. All five of the children were raised in the Philippines. After her family migrated to the United States, she gave birth to her son, Neil, in 1969.
The Arabe family lived in Santee, California. She worked for Kaiser Permanente for more than 20 years as a hospital records clerk.
She found joy in music, reading, journaling, and her trips to the casino. Lauren enjoyed family gatherings, her faith, and watching her children & grandchildren grow. She brought light and warmth to everyone around her.
Above all, Lauren was a devoted spouse, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, whose love and guidance shaped the lives of many. Her compassion, laughter, wisdom and strength will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Lauren is lovingly survived by her brother Godofredo Marigsa and family, her children: Emmanuel Arabe, Marissa and spouse-Edgar Balanza, Neil and spouse- Gidget Arabe, and her grandchildren: Melissa and spouse- Quentin Henry, Maricel, April and spouse- Jeremy Aguas, Christopher, Edgar Jr and spouse- Jenny Balanza, Simon, and Cassidy, and great grandchildren: Melia and Xavion Henry and Austin Laurence Aguas. She was preceded in death by Emilio Arabe, Marwin Arabe, Arabella Arabe Sprang, and Lorimel Arabe.
Her love remains our greatest blessing.
