

Lawrence Elliott Harden, 73, passed away March 12, 2022 due to surgical complications related to a chronic medical condition. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas and raised in Tucson, AZ, he ultimately made San Diego, CA his home; following 30 years of service to the United States Navy, he retired in 1996 as a Lieutenant Commander. Larry then took a position with Atel Communications where he worked in some capacity until his passing.
In his spare time, Larry dedicated his time and passion to several projects and organizations; he headed a chapter of the Wreaths Across America Campaign, participated in the Sons of the American Revolution and Mayflower Compact organizations, and researched and organized information for his family tree. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his faithful companion Bunsen, and going on adventures with his four-year-old grandson. Larry was a family man to the core, and he spent much of his free time with his wife, sons, daughter, son-in-law, grandson, and extended family and friends; he believed family and friends were the most precious resource one could have, and he lived his life in service to those whom God placed in his path.
Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara Joan; his eldest son, Timothy Lawrence; his middle son, Michael Eugene; his daughter, Kristine Ann; his son-in-law, Christopher Joseph; and his grandson, David Elijah; he is further survived by his brother, Raymond; and sister-in-laws Mary, June, and Barb. He is proceeded in his passing by his parents: Lawrence and Laura; brothers: Robert, Clarence (Ralph), Donny (Charley); and his sister: Dolores.
The family will hold a private funeral, in which Larry will be laid to rest with full military honors at Miramar National Cemetary; any donations made in his honor should go toward the local Wreaths Across America Campaign to support Miramar National Cemetary and Fort Rosecrans National Cemetary.
