Leena Mathews was born as the oldest child of K. C. Mathews and Sosamma Mathews on December 22, 1973, in Doha, Qatar. Her siblings are Lincy Cherian and Rency Mathews. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age, was baptized, and lived her life fully committed to Him. On February 5, 1998, the Lord united her in marriage to Daxon Alexander, son of V. K. Alexander and Mary Alexander.
After her initial years of schooling in Doha, Leena studied in various institutes in Kerala, India. She trained to become a dentist in India, earning a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Dr. MGR Medical University. After her marriage, she immigrated to the United States and lived in Virginia, New York, and California. Leena acquired a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, and practiced dentistry in New York and California for a few years.
After many years of prayerful, eager waiting, she and Daxon became grateful parents of Abigail and Andrew Alexander on April 6, 2009. The Lord granted them another son, Benjamin Alexander, on November 7, 2011. For Leena, her children were a source of great joy and comfort. She became to them a godly mother whose highest calling was to raise them in the ways of the Lord. During her sickness, Leena modeled to her children what it meant to love, trust, and follow the Lord Jesus intimately. As a loving and devoted wife, she stood by her husband in everything God had called them to fulfill. They were active members of various churches across the United States, and most recently were in fellowship with the saints at India Christian Fellowship, San Diego. Leena's life is a testament to God's grace that calls, equips, and sustains His people.
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a
Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly
body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables
him even to subject all things to himself
Philippians 3:20, 21
