From Sinait, Ilocos Sur, the entire Basuel Family relocated in a small barrio in Quipayo, Calabanga, Camarines Sur. At the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Mariano Cabading. Their union lasted for a total of 48 years until his passing on November 17th, 2003.
On December 1st, 2022, at the age of 86, the Good Lord made Heaven her home.
Lilia leaves behind her 4 siblings: Lolita Cabading, Larry Basuel, Leopoldo Basuel, and Irene Quemado
She is survived by her 7 children: Merlyn Deguzman, Margie Nicolaus, Gil Cabading, Merba Cabading, Melinda Cruz, Arlene Cabading- Cruz, and Garry Cabading.
Her legacy is carried on by her 12 beloved grandchildren and 1 great grandchild: Malyn DeGuzman, Noel DeGuzman, Emma DeGuzman, Emalyn DeGuzman, Abigail DeGuzman, August Nicolaus, Karl “Artie” Nicolaus, Andy Nicolaus, Samuel Cruz, Tyler Cruz, Matthew Cruz, Joshua Cruz, and Amian Pacquing.
Mom, we will miss your gentle smile, your keen sense of humor, your loving embrace, and your unconditional love. We thank you for all the sacrifices you have made for each and every one of us. We love you dearly. Our joyful and priceless memories will live in our hearts and minds forever.
May the Good Lord look kindly upon your dedication to Him on earth so that you may enjoy His heavenly promise.
Visitation: Saturday, January 7 and January 8 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at El Camino Memorial-Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd. San Diego, CA 92121.
Funeral: Monday, January 9, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Drive, San Diego, CA 92126. Funeral mass will be livestream at GoodShepherdParish.net
Interment: Monday, January 9, 2023, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at El Camino Memorial.
Reception: Natsumi Sushi and Seafood Buffet 7040 Miramar Rd, San Diego, CA 92121 3:30- 5:30pm
