I came to his Facebook page to wish Loch a Happy Birthday and found out he passed away. I met him when we were both in Junior Magicians. I remember going to his house for one of the meetings and it was Octagonal. I was a good assistant and a great fan of magic but not a magician so I didn't keep up with it. I would run into him over the years but my best memories are two fold. First, when my miniature horses were at a childs birthday party, I got to watch him in action. And again, at a Clampers (E Clampus Vitus) family weekend, he entertained the kids (and me) one night with his magic. The real magic was his interaction with the kids. The other memory is the many times I ran into him at parades, him with the Star Trek motorcycle and me with my miniature horses. The world is a little more empty with you gone Loch but Heaven is being amazed, especially the kids up there.

Just saw this today. So saddened by this.
I met Loch when he and I were in a magic club together; 1964? 1965? We both had the same magic teacher. Lost track as people will do, but we would meet now and again and it was always good to catch up with him.
His loss leaves a hole in my heart.
Sad to see you go, Sir.

Just found out about Loch David's death tonight. He was such a character...eccentric and a very sweet and kind man. He was brilliant in all ways. I remember his coming to the middle school to perform for the kids before the holidays. I remember his famous beard, his love of Star Trek, his love for his mom....his twinkling eyes. Not knowing that he is here and not able to touch base with him...devastating. Just totally devastating. He was a kind soul. Philosophical and highly educated. His loss will be felt by many. I know the news shook my world today.

Loch was a well known figure in the San Diego Community, running for office, riding with the Patriot Guard, performing magic, making the news. His Star Trike drew crowds everywhere he went. A long time member of the Brothers of the Third Wheel, he enjoyed the many trike events he attend here and abroad. Always ready to entertain with his magic act, he was quite the character. He definitely made a lasting impression on those he met. You will never be forgotten Mr Crane.

I just remember seeing the star trike and how awesome it was trolling around OB. I was student at the time and went to National University. I was starting a New English Class lo' and behold my teacher was none other than the owner of the Star Trike. It was so cool to meet him and have him for a teacher. Great Guy
