Loretta Kay Stevens

Lorrie's journey through military life took her from the plains of Wyoming to England, with several adventures and stops along the way, before she eventually made California her home.

Lorrie spent many years as a hairdresser, where she enjoyed connecting with people and building friendships with her clients and coworkers. In the last twenty years of her life, she dedicated herself to caregiving, first caring for her mother and later serving others through her work with Ideal Care.

Caring for others wasn't simply what Lorrie did; it was who she was. Lorrie had a way of making those around her feel loved, cared for, and welcome.

Her biggest pride and joy was her Granddaughter Ashley. She was especially grateful to have just visited Ashley, her Great Grand Daughter Railynn, and meeting her great-grandson, Grayson, who was born just a few months before her passing.

Lorrie's love extended far beyond her immediate family to the countless cousins, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and children she cared for over the years. If someone needed a babysitter, Lorrie was often the first person they called, and she would never say no.

Lorrie loved games, not only for winning, but for the time spent together around the table. She treasured the laughter and memories made and was always ready for another round if it meant spending more time with the people she loved. Whether it was a family gathering, celebration, or holiday, she was often one of the first to arrive and one of the last to leave, content to sit and visit long after everyone else was ready to head home.

Lorrie was preceded in death by her brother, Richard "Dick" Stevens, and her sister, Bonnie Stevens.

She is survived by her brother, Charles "Chuck" Stevens, and her sisters, Patricia "Patty" Bigler, Maria "Kitty" Ryan, and Anna Hawthorne; her beloved granddaughter, Ashley Leifer, Ashley's husband, Quinn Leifer, and her great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Grayson Leifer; along with many extended family members.

Lorrie's unwavering love for others will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
