It was in San Diego that Margarita met the love of her life, James B. Moore. They were soon married, sharing a beautiful life together that was enriched by their diverse language and cultural backgrounds. Margarita and James had eight children, and they worked hard to send them to Catholic schools and to go on family camping trips. Margarita was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother—also helping to raise numerous grandchildren.
The love for God and Mother Mary was always evident in her life. In her younger years, she was an active member at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and at Our Lady of Angels Church. She was a good and faithful servant and a model of living one’s faith. For the last two and a half years of her life, she was in the loving care of Nazareth House’s nurses, caregivers, and sisters. She was known as “la consentida de Dios”.
Margarita passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024. She is survived by seven of her eight children, twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
If one could summarize the message of her life, it would be the first words she would whisper into the ear of her newly born children: "Dios te quiere mucho".
A visitation for Margarita will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Goodbody Mortuary, 5027 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1770 Kearney Ave, San Diego, CA 92113.
