31 July 1951 - 24 May 2021
San Diego, Calif.
Maria Luisa Sandoval 69, a resident of San Diego passed away at Mercy Hospital May 24th, 2021. She is now in the presence of her Lord.
Maria Luisa was born in Maritas, Guanajuato, Mexico. Shortly after, she moved with her parents to Aticama, Nayarit, a place she loved and spoke highly of.
In 1968 she moved with her mother and siblings to Baja California where she met her husband Manuel, eventually moving to San Diego where she spent her last 32+ years of life raising and nurturing her children and grandchildren.
Maria Luisa was an avid reader, she loved reading her bible, knitting, sewing and gardening. She was her kids and grandkids biggest fan, always attending school events. She enjoyed having the family around, always cooking their favorite Mexican food. She was a lifelong vegetarian, so all her food was cruelty free well before being vegan became popular. She was an unconditionally loving mom; she was kind, selfless, gentle, and a humble soul. She never held an ounce of animosity, rancor or ill will towards anyone who did her wrong, anyone who knew her can attest to that. After God created her, he broke the mold.
Her benevolent ways will not go unnoticed nor in vain. Always placing herself in second place, she has given us a life lesson of selflessness even in death by extending life to two other people via organ donation.
She was preceded in death by a brother Asuncion who died in infancy, sister Josefina Sandoval, mother-in-law Concepcion "Concha" Pantoja, brother-in-law Jose Luis Rodriguez, sister-in-law Josefina Cueva and grandson Brandon Edward Thayer.
Maria Luisa is survived by her Mother Leonila Magdaleno; her husband Manuel Rodriguez; three daughters Brenda (Ed), Wendy, Zvetlana (Michael), and one son Edwin; two sisters Remedios, Rosalinda and two brothers Antonio, Jose Juan (Katty); grandchildren Kevin, Derek, Isabella, Angel, Edwin Jr, Bryan, Michael, Luciana, and Zephyr; along with several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and nephews; a sister-in-law Clementina Ojeda Vda. de Rodriguez; Pastors and lifelong friends Aleyda and Ed Wales; her dear friend Lourdes Jauregui, Laura and Armando Preciado; and many sisters and brothers in Christ, always there during the good and the bad times.
The Rodriguez Family wishes to sincerely thank Scripps Mercy Hospital SICU, to the fabulous doctors and nurses for their care and compassion given to our mother during this difficult time with special emphasis to nurses: Andrea, Carol, Cora, Corrie, Kim, Lindsey and Matthew whom we had the pleasure to meet.
Funeral services will be entrusted to Goodbody Mortuary.
