I met dear Marilyn  about seven years ago through association with volunteers and workers at The Episcopal Refugee Network of San Diego.  It has been a pleasure to know her and see the many beautiful qualities in her life.  I remember how she opened her heart to many new refugee families from many different lands and helped them feel welcomed here in San Diego.  I especially enjoyed the many years we tutored children together.  God bless and keep you , Marilyn.

Marilyn! Vital, vivacious, beautiful, kind, fun & a real example of how to shine your light in the world! Once you hear her laugh, it never leaves you! She loved serving the Lord in Church and out in the community. She and Jerry were a one of a kind couple. She had her feet on the ground in tiny high heels, working tirelessly at everything she took on! My best memories were of helping her at St. Paul's on Saturdays when she served as the Church wedding coordinator... That was way back in another time! It took a firm but graceful hand to keep all those wedding parties in line! And on time! "The bride waits for no one (though sometimes the bride was late)!" You couldn't go wrong thinking "what would Marilyn do?" I know she is with Jerry now dancing and laughing, so glad to be at home with the Lord!

All of us at Richard Joseph Salon will greatly miss Marilyn. Her kindness and heartwarming atmosphere brightened each day that she came into the salon to visit us.

Marilyn - we all will miss your sweet smile and taking your picture! Your loss to our chapter will be great.

Marilyn was definitely a Southern Gal.  I knew her from UDC and several other organizations.  She will be missed by many.

Marilyn's memorial service will held on December 5th at 10:30AM at St. Paul's Cathedral 2728 6th Ave, San Diego, CA 92103. There will be a reception following the service with more details to come. Marilyn was so cute. I knew her through Episcopal Community Services. We were both on the advisory board for Julian's Sanctuary. And then, of course, through GRITS. I loved that she was from Beeville, a town I knew in South Texas. Marilyn was very giving and sweet and caring. We sat together at church one Maundy Thursday when I visited St. Paul's. She will be greatly missed!

Marilyn, was a lovely Southern Lady.  She was a pleasure to be around.  Never in my company did an unkind word passed her mouth.  She was always there to help.  She will be missed.  May the angels lead you into paradise.  May you have eternal rest.  Joanne

Marilyn Nahas was a great friend to our disasporatic community. Her selfless work will continue to impact a generation of youth directly affected by her warmth, humor and dedication. In the words of Victor Hugo: she is no longer where she is, she is everywhere we are.

A friend indeed. Marilyn cared about others, she always inquired about others, she went out of her way to be a part of your life, she had many "best friends", 
She was never wearisome to be around, she faithfully sat by my bedside when I was trying to survive after emergency surgery, she prayed for me. I loved her and will miss her in the days ahead

We will miss Marilyn so much at the US Daughters of 1812 meetings. She was always so kind and gracious to everyone and gave so willingly of herself. It is an honor to have known her.

Marilyn was such a sweet lady and we always enjoyed talking with her at UDC and SCV events.  She is sorely missed by our chapter members and will always be remembered...

Marilyn always greeted me with a smile. Her spirit was just too big for her petite frame. Her genuine concern for others and her joy of giving would burst through her entire body and flow out through her brilliant smile and her twinkling eyes. She is a true inspiration for a life well lived. I will miss you, Marilyn.

Marilyn was truly an angel to many and will be missed dearly.  She constantly gave of her time and talents and asked for nothing in return.  She set a fine example for the rest of us.  May memories of Marilyn and all that she stood for remain in our hearts forever.  Darcy
