Born on November 24, 1939, in San Diego, he dedicated his life to his family and his career as a respected tuna boat captain. Mario was preceded in death by the love of his life, Serafina Asaro. Their bond was one of deep affection and unwavering commitment. Together, they built a beautiful family that became the center of Mario’s world. He is survived by their three children: Susan and her husband Moe Tousi; Salvatore and his wife Jamie Crivello; and Andrea Boyd. His nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren brought him immense joy. Susan and Moe’s daughters were a source of happiness for Mario. Isabella and her husband Leandro blessed him with two great-grandchildren, Emilia and Lucia. Mariana and her husband Derren Lechuga recently welcomed twins, Siena and Santino ("Sonny"), a moment that thrilled Mario as they were the first twins in the family. Sophia is currently studying in Hawaii and will graduate with honors in May. Salvatore and Jamie’s children have each pursued remarkable paths. Giovanna is an attorney in New York City; Giulianna is a venture capitalist in San Francisco; and their brother Salvatore serves as a sheriff in Wyoming. Andrea’s children—Mario, Marco, and Carlo—were also a great source of pride for him. Carlo is currently attending Northern Arizona University (NAU), continuing the family's tradition of dedication to education. Mario spent his life at sea as a highly respected tuna boat captain, embodying strength, leadership, and a deep connection to nature. After retiring, he embraced travel alongside Serafina—whom he affectionately called "Dimples"—exploring favorite destinations such as Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Hawaii. He was the beloved son of Sam and Isabella Crivello and had four siblings: Esther, Andrew, and Salvatore.
