Mary Manos born January 27, 1928, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2017. Mary is now with her beloved husband of 64 years. Mary and Al were both born in Chicago Illinois; met in grade school; were married when they were 17 years old. In 1955 they left Chicago and headed to San Diego for a better life. Mary went to beauty school; Al went to work for Rohr Aircraft. With Mary’s best buddy, Katherine Joseph, whom she met in beauty school, they opened up the Grecian Goddess Beauty Salon in Chula Vista; House of Athens, Bonita and Mission Valley. Mary and Al owned and operated one of the most successful restaurants in Del Mar, Pappachino’s. They mostly traveled to Las Vegas with their dear friends “The Hard Eights.” To say they were the “life of the party” was an understatement. Their lives were full of great friendships, Mary touched the lives of many people. Mary’s heart was full of love for her children, Tommy Manos, Madelyn Jones; grandson, Alex Jones; grand-daughter-in-law, Rose Jones; great grandsons Mason and, Logan Jones; brother, Chris Sousanes; and many nieces and nephews. Mary and Al are now shooting craps and betting on the closer.
