It's a wonderful thing to make a friend, but when you are blessed to befriend the the family, that's an even bigger gift. Lyn always welcomed us with such love, warmth, great humor, and platters of food. What wonderful, beautiful children she raised as well. Lyn genuinely cared about her friends and family, and we send our condolences and support to the Macaspac-Raines family.

My condolences to the Macaspac family. I am sorry for your loss. Melinda was always so kind. She will be missed. Rest in peace, Melinda 🙏 I won’t be able to attend the service as I will be out of town.

Melinda was our neighbor years ago. She would bring us her delicious soup when she made a batch. So yummy!! She was a wonderful neighbor. So sad that she has passed. Sending comforting wishes to her family. Love, Rob Manriquez, Judith Hopkins and family

Those who have loved Melinda throughout her life and theirs don't need me to say what they already know, which is that she was a true blue genuine loving person.

I knew her when we were teenagers in high school. I so LOVED her laugh and I remember it still. She had a commanding and magnetic presence. I saw her again in early August after 40 years--she made such an effort to attend another friend's Celebration of Life as well as our high school class union. She looked like a movie star! And that same, kind, deeply honest soul I remember so well was all the more for the 40 years that had passed, and, despite her illness, greeted me with a level of care and connection that took my breath away. I am so grateful to have had the chance to see her once again.

Thank you, Melinda, for the joy you gave the world and the example you leave for us all to be so very present in every moment. You are unforgettable. My best to her beloved children.

To the Raines and Macaspac Families -
From the Quirante sisters - Johanna, Jenni, Janel and Joy. Our deepest sympathies to you all. Melinda was such a bright light always sharing so much of herself with all of us. She was fun, always had a great story to tell and just had a special gift of making everyone feel so welcomed and loved. We will miss her and keep all of you in our hearts as you navigate these challenging times.
