Melinda was a delightful, somewhat shy child, yet easily made friends. She enjoyed ballet, tap dancing, swimming, and figure skating. As an adult she enjoyed painting, gardening, caring for her pets, camping, cooking, yoga, and volunteer work.
After high school she enrolled in a cosmetology program and earned her certification. After working in salons she had to reduce her hours, due to the progression of her multiple sclerosis, and began a private practice in her Clairemont home. She was always looking for ways to be involved in the community and was especially fond of volunteering at Birthline and delivering meals to the disabled.
Melinda was a generous person who loved to shop and surprise friends and family with gifts. Her idealistic outlook on life could be both insightful and funny. Unfortunately, her illnesses during the past year detracted from her ability to fully enjoy life, but she never gave up trying.
She is greatly missed by her parents, sister Megan, brother Mark, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
