Melvin Scottie Williams was born on June 17th, 1954 in Fulton, Atlanta, Georgia to the late Sara C. Williams Reid and Herman Reid. He grew up with his sister Avis Graybeal. In his early life, he attended Southwest High and then continued his education at Atlanta Metro College.
Soon after, he enlisted into the Army but quickly transitioned into the Navy. One of his biggest achievements was being promoted to E-6, eventually serving as a first class Yeoman on the USS Elliot. He had the opportunity to travel to different countries around the world and form close bonds with his fellow service members within the 20 years.
Scottie was a devoted Christian and left a positive footprint in his community.
He is survived by his children Stephanie Williams Rautenbach, Melvin Williams Jr., Angela Williams, and Grandchild, Melvin Williams III; he is now reunited in heaven with his daughter Dynasti Williams.
