

Michael was born on July 12, 1956, in Long Beach, California. A lifelong Californian, he spent his childhood in Orange County and moved between Northern and Southern California throughout college and his early career. In 1987, he settled in the Bay Area with his wife, Nancy. He earned his law degree from UC Berkeley School of Law in 1990 and went on to enjoy a fulfilling legal career spanning more than three decades. In 2022, Michael returned to his Southern California roots and made San Diego his home, where he retired from Clyde & Co. in 2024.
Michael will be remembered for his sharp intellect, witty sense of humor, and unwavering kindness. He found joy in reading, traveling, and spending time with the people he loved. His travels took him across the United States and abroad, where he found joy in discovering the history and stories of each place he visited. A lifelong baseball fan, he traveled to ballparks across the country, visited the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, and saw the Red Sox play the Yankees in London.
Michael was always ready to lend a hand and approached life with patience, care, and unwavering support. His quiet guidance and encouragement were a steady presence to those around him. He will be remembered above all for the deep love he held for his family, his dedication to his work, and his passion for travel and learning.
