"Miles David Beheler was born on January 30, 2026, in San Diego, California, to Kristen and Richard Beheler. On February 21, 2026, at just 22 days old, Miles went from the loving arms of his parents into the arms of Jesus. Diagnosed before birth with moderate to severe Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease), Miles lived 22 days marked by great strength of character and endurance in the face of pain, before passing from complications of his condition. He was a personable and tough little fighter. He developed impressive pacifier-sucking skills, delighted in books and music, and responded with peaceful enjoyment whenever his parents touched him or spoke to him. He will be remembered for his bright smiles, wide-eyed wonder, full head of hair, unabashed cuteness, and a maturity and curiosity beyond what one would expect from a newborn. His life, though brief, reflected resilience, sweetness, and the imprint of God’s careful design.
Miles is survived by his parents, Richard and Kristen Beheler of San Diego, California; his grandparents, Rick and Ruth Beheler of Greer, South Carolina, and Randy and Kim Cain of Greenville, South Carolina; his great-grandfather, Robert Wallace of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; and many loving and devoted aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The Beheler family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of prayers, meals, flowers, messages, and support from friends and loved ones around the world. They and others have been strengthened by witnessing the many prayers God answered for Miles. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the skilled and compassionate nurses, physicians, and staff of the Sharp Mary Birch NICU for the exceptional care and love shown to Miles. They are also profoundly grateful for the faithful community of Trinity Presbyterian Church San Diego, who embodied the hands and feet of Christ during this season, and to Praying Through Ministries for their steady encouragement and hope.
Though they grieve deeply, the family rests in the peace of Christ and finds joy in remembering Miles’ sweet personality and the gift of knowing him. His life has left a lasting mark, and we are all richer because of Miles.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (PST), followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. (PST) on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley & Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121. A livestream of the service will be available. A private family burial will follow. In honor of Miles, guests are invited to wear yellow (the color representing Osteogenesis Imperfecta awareness) or yellow accents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Miles be made to the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation or Praying Through Ministries."
