I was introduced to Miriam by my brother (Greg Gardner) who lived in San Diego and who worked as a colleague with Miriam for a number of years.  I am so very saddened at her passing....as I wanted for her to have a very long and happy life.  Bright, witty, intense, deeply curious - I so enjoyed our friendship and am devastated at its early ending.  Sending tender thoughts to her family whom I heard about frequently ....sisters, their husbands, children, her grandson, her son and daughter in law.  I will miss her.  She and my brother, Greg, will have much to discuss in their new journey.
