Morgan Edmund Bedford of San Diego, died suddenly at age 27. His younger brother Derek says, “Morgan is resting with the planets.” He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School and was completing his mathematics degree at Cal State Monterey Bay.
Throughout his life, he was devoted to his family and many pets. Morgan was a natural power boat pilot and spent several years cruising the Pacific on his family’s 32-foot trawler. He bottle-fed kittens and was an expert on ocean creatures. He volunteered for Surfrider, and enjoyed working a summer job at SeaWorld. He was a skilled dog handler and walked his German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois like a pro.
He was disciplined and orderly, yet he often entertained friends and family with his comic impersonations. He was a Lego master and avid gamer. He could recite complete lines from movies. He earned a brown belt in Kung Fu, and was a fine bass player. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his parents, Kris Eitland and Thomas Bedford, his brother Derek Bedford, grandmother Shirley Eitland, beloved aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends who adored him.
A memorial will be held at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego on Sunday September 8th at 12:00 PM, followed by a gathering at the family’s home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Surfrider Foundation.
