

Murray L. Greenspan died peacefully at home on July 26, 2016 at age 94. Murray was born in Duluth, Minnesota in 1922 to Barney and Minnie Greenspan. He is survived by his daughters, Roberta and Karen; his daughter Diane and her children, Shlomi, Sarit, Adam, and Lior; and his son James and daughter-in-law Linda, and their children, Alexandra and Zachary; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Nate, Harry and his twin brother Irving and two sisters Anne and Rose and his wife Vivian.
Murray served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Buffalo, New York, where he married Vivian and lived with her for the next 41 years. Murray was a skilled builder, from working as a helicopter mechanic at Bell Aerospace to adding a second story onto his family home. After retiring and moving to California to live with his son and daughter-in-law, he continued woodworking in his garage workshop, making beautiful gifts for his extended family.
Murray will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a proud father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, and will always be loved and missed. Services were held at the Miramar National Cemetery on Friday, July 28, 2016.
