I just got the sad news of Myron's passing.
We worked together on the Atlas / Centaur
launch system but he was in San Diego and
I only communicated by phone from here in
Denver.  Its unfortunate that I only now see
a recent picture of him.

Myron's hand was on almost all of the analysis software for the Atlas project. He
was always patient and supportive in making it a very successful project.

When I was a toddler Myron used to babysit me.  I remember him reading as I was supposed to take a nap.  I couldn't go to sleep because he wouldn't let me suck my thumb.  As a teenager, I remember him listening to Glenn Miller music.  He thought my rock n' roll was awful but he was the one who gave me the record player.  When I was 14 I went to California with some relatives who lived in Napa.  I then went to visit my Aunt in Santa Cruz.  She had a friend that I flew to San Diego with.  Myron got me a room in a motel and I was so scared I didn't go out of the room to get something to eat.  He brought me back to Kansas.  He turned up the radio because the Thunderbird had a squeak somewhere and he couldn't stand to hear it. We took Route 66.  He was a genius with a photographic memory. I have always been proud of him.

My condolences, Anne and Sarah and family.  May God bring you comfort.

Uncle Myron and Aunt Anne were a very important part of my life growing up in San Diego.  There are so many good memories.  

Here's one from when Myron still lived in Kansas:
When I was about 4 years old, there was a birthday party for Myron and Merle.   Myron had just bought a new car and when he arrived, everyone went out to see his new car -- it was the T-Bird.

So sorry to hear of Myron's passing he and I were in High School together and he was always a very nice fellow, My Husband and I thought a lot of Myron.  I'm sure he will be greatly missed.  After we had our 50th High School alumni I sent Myron a booklet that we made up, in fact Merle made it up with all the stuff we all gave him and Myron called  to thank me and we had a nice visit. My brother, Myron, and I were in the same class at Spartan School of Aero, and then Myron enlisted in the Air Force.  He was one of the first arrivals when Wichita's McConnell AFB opened.  I helped him install an air conditioner in his room at the base.  

I thought that I should have gotten an Aero Engr Degree instead of Math and Physics, and feel that I talked Myron into getting the Aero Degree.  He did very well in school.  One of the major Aero professors always asked me about Myron.  I later felt that his and my degrees could have readily been interchanged.  

I gave Myron some flight instruction, and he did quite well.  He and I had a forced landing together one very hot day.

My twin brothers, Myron and Merle, have been special.

Myron was my twin brother and I'll regret losing the feeling that he was OK in San Diego.  His passing lets me know that it's later than I think.  There  are many people in Kansas whose paths he has crossed who share your sadness for his loss.
