Naoko grew up in a home with her younger brother Yoshiaki Yokoyama, parents Tokie and Masaru Yokoyama, and grandparents. In high school, she met her best friend who she stayed close to, to this day. While in college, she met her first husband Hatsuhiko and married 1988. Together, they lived in Saikiku-Itsukaichi and had three children Takashi, Yoshimi and Koki Hasegawa, and two dogs Mickey and Minnie. After unexpectedly losing her husband to illness, she moved the family back to Hiroshima and where provided a beautiful and loving life with the support of her parents. In 2000, she met her second husband, Samuel, and they married in 2001. The family moved to San Diego, CA and together they had Jasmin (2001) and Andrew (2004) Shasteen.
Naoko studied physical therapy and became certified in various focused areas and later became licensed in cosmetology. She used her practice in physical therapy and spirituality (SGI) to support others in their individual healing journeys.
She radiated her light within her family, her friends, and anyone she met. Naoko and family enjoyed camping, having gyoza and karaoke parties, talking by the bonfire, traveling and most of all, she loved being home with all of her kids and dogs. Her generous heart and contagious loving energy touched everyone and will continue to do so forever.
