Nestor Sevilla Anoche

A visitation for Nestor will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121.

A funeral mass will occur Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Drive, San Diego, CA 92126.

A burial service will occur Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at 9555 - El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121.

Nestor was born in Palauig, Philippines on July 8, 1944. When he was only six years old, his mother passed away. His very humble beginnings taught him the values of hard work and to always provide for family and loved ones. In 1966, Nestor enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served honorably for over 21 years. His service took him to faraway places like Japan and Australia, satisfying his love for adventure. But when he met his wife, Carmelita, Love was the adventure that took him to places beyond his imagination. He was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii and brought Carmelita and their newborn daughter, Michaela, in 1971. His family literally tripled in 1972 with the birth of his triplets, Mark, Matt, and Gerri, at Tripler Army Medical Center. Later, Nestor and Carmelita proudly purchased their first house located in Ewa Beach. It was a small blue house, surrounded by large sugar cane fields. In 1981, Nestor’s military assignment took him and his family to San Diego. In 1987, Nestor retired from the U.S. Navy. He then worked at Villa Encinitas Assisted Living until retirement. Throughout his life, Nestor’s smile lit up a room, and with a simple “hello”, he made people open up to him. He was friendly with everyone and was known as everyone’s good friend “Nick”. Nestor was quiet unless there were good jokes to be had. He liked to laugh and love with his family and friends. And he was a big romantic. Nestor showed his unconditional love in quiet ways. After his beloved wife, Carmelita, passed away in 2019, Nestor’s health began to deteriorate. In the end, Nestor passed away at a hospital surrounded by his children on his beloved wife’s birthday. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Nestor is survived by his children Michaela, Mark, Matthew, and Gerri; his grandchildren Melody, Manning, and Mars; his sisters Felicitas and Clemencita; and his half siblings from his father's third marriage. He is predeceased by his parents, Artemio and Geronima Anoche, and his sister, Clarita Anoche Dee, and by his beautiful and dynamic wife of 49 years, Carmelita Aragon Anoche.
