A fine lady who loved life to the fullest.  I think of her fondly and will never stop missing her.

It’s hard to believe Nina passed one year ago.  I so miss hanging out with her.   She had such a joyful personality that made my day every  time I saw her.  When I rang her doorbell she answered with a beautiful smile always welcoming me.  I know I overstayed, many times, I just loved being with her and couldn’t think of a better way to spend my day.  Sending Love to her family and friends.

The first time I saw Nina was a joyful time, she and Paul were getting into their mini coupe laughing and giggling like teenagers.   My thoughts were, how lucky they were to have each other.  I visited her often after Paul's death.  Somehow she was able to regain her cheerful disposition and made my day many times.  After Nini moved in I saw a loving and devoted bond between mother and daughter.  Nini spent most of her time taking care of Nina.  I enjoyed our girl times to lunch and movie trips with Nini and Valerie.  We took Nina to see, "Bad Mom's", wondering how she would react to the rather rash and obscene parts--ha, she laughed out loud, many times, and made us the prudes.! Our last conversation was while she was in the hospital.  I teased her about flirting with the good looking paramedics no matter how sick she was--she proudly agreed that she did and it was fun!  What an amusing friend she was, always cheerful and happy.  She made me feel so special, I knew she was placed into my life for a reason.   I will miss her so very much.  Every time I have an ice cream sundae, or a piece of chocolate,  I will think of you Nina.  You were a  wonderful friend  and neighbor of whom I had the privilege of knowing and loving. When I think of Nina, I remember unbundled joy for life. She brought instant happiness to any situation. We met her just weeks before our first child was born, and she cheerily fussed over us. I am happy all of our children had the opportunity to spend time with her. What a pair she and Peter Paul made. They were an inspiration for all of us on how to embrace life and to live from the heart. We will miss her, but the memory of her will live on. 

     My Tante Nina (Aunt Nina) had a major influence on my outlook of life. As her positive energy and humor were ever present, her compassion was strong and set an example of the best approach to living an honorable life.  
     My brother Paul and I had the blessing of having stayed with Tante Nina and her family for a number of summers when we were kids. Taken in as immediate members of the family, we were always welcome and knew even then how fortunate we were. Easily staying entertained by my cousins and their parents, we shared so many unforgettable experiences around San Diego and Mexico. I think of those times often. As I write this, the joy this woman gave me, now brings tears to my eyes.
     I am so fortunate to have been loved by this amazing woman. I can only imagine the welcoming hugs she received in heaven. 
     Tante Nina, you live forever in my heart.                                                                                                                                                                    

The Scripteasers organization is saddened by the passing of our friend and long time member Nina Kent Ternasky. Her smile and presence will be missed, but not forgotten! Our prayers go out to her family. 

Nina married my grandfather when I was a young girl and I was so excited to have another grandma, especially one so kind and loving. She was an amazing woman and I will forever miss her sweet laugh and how she’d pat on you when she hugged you! Love you Nina! 

At my first meeting at Scripteasers in early 2000s, Nina, a long-time member, was the greeter. She was sweet and friendly, and talked to me at different times during the evening. Later when I had plays read at Scripteasers, she was usually there. She was a great supporter of me and other writers, especially we females. I enjoyed hearing her stories of writing for MASH. 
She was such a dear person, and I'll cherish in my memories. 

I got to know Nina through The Scripteasers playwrights' development group.  According to the records, she became a member in 1971.  She achieved "Honorary/Life Member" status, which was only awarded to about 3 members in the history of the organization (which began in the 1940's!).  She was a loyal and devoted member of the group for many, many years, and her presence at readings and holiday parties (always festively attired) brought a major ray of sunshine.   She was generous to a fault and agreed to host business meetings at her lovely home for many more years than I should have requested it!  Nina was spectacular...in the kindest, gentlest way possible.  She had surprising stories to tell and an understated humor.  The Scripteasers and I personally will miss her greatly and remember her fondly.

I have so many lovely memories of Nina from first meeting her when a friend from Scripps rented a room from her to Tuesday morning breakfast club to sitting with her while my toddler twins swam in her pool.  Nina glowed from the inside out.  She had so many stories to tell from her life of adventure.  I am sure she is off on another adventure now making friends and learning new things.  Nina you were one of a kind.  It was my good fortune to get to know you and spend time with you!  Love, Christy
