If Point Loma was an oyster, Olivia was the pearl. Born in New Bedford, Mass., Olivia was an only child. While married to her one love, Manuel Richard Cintas, she gave birth to seven amazing children. Those seven are comprised of Dennis, the eldest, to Joshua, the youngest, with Michael, Michele, Denise, Natalie, and Nathan, in between. Olivia had a passion for love, and she exemplified love everywhere, in every situation, towards everyone. She had an intimate relationship with God, and she was able to instill it in her children, 22 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Her life was one of rags to riches, as she stood as the oak behind her beloved husband. The tuna industry was all too familiar to Olivia, as she went from working in a cannery, to owning tuna purse seiners. Olivia was a free spirit, and she lived a passionate life. While raising seven children, she found time to play golf, tennis, and oil paint. Her energy was contagious, and when she entered a room there was a quiet moment, then the party would start. As I reflect on the patience, the unconditional love, and faith, that she shared with all of us, we are eternally grateful for such a mentor, a mother, and an angel in my life. We love you mom, the Cintas kids.
