Petr Marek

Petr Marek, born in Kolín, Czechoslovakia, lived a life of vision and purpose. He graduated from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Plzeň, where he received his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Together with his brother Pavel, they founded and ran a successful company Neox, based in Prague, Czech Republic. As a side passion, he left an enduring legacy in the world of sports.

As the founder of competitive mountain biking in the Czech Republic, Petr organized the first unofficial Czechoslovak Mountain Bike Championship in 1990. He served as President of the Czech Cycling Federation from 2018 until his passing, leading with passion and dedication to advancing the sport.

Petr passed away unexpectedly while visiting his son and daughter-in-law in Florida. He is survived by his loving wife Jana, his children Tereza and Tomáš, his brother Pavel with his family, his father Jaroslav, and many others who will always remember his drive, vision and humor.

The service will be held on January 11th, 2025 in a small family and friends circle. If you wish to send flowers, please send them for the day off the service before 11am to El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.
