Dave Sewell, born January 19, 1936, in Florence, Arizona, to Ralph & Mabel Sewell where they lived until 1941 when they relocated to San Diego as their permanent home.
Dave passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at age 89.
He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Loraine, father to Rod and Greg, and proud grandfather to Joshua and Jake.
Known for his quiet strength and generous spirit, he was a man whose actions spoke louder than words. A skilled prototype machinist in the medical instrument field, he brought the same precision and creativity to his personal projects, designing and building furniture, fixtures, jewelry and decorative pieces. He was a true handyman who could fix anything.
In his youth, Dave wrestled on the SDSU varsity team and enjoyed auto mechanics and rally racing. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the 1950s, stationed in South Korea, an experience that shaped his discipline and sense of duty.
Dave and Loraine shared a love of square dancing and traveled the world together, creating lifelong memories and friendships.
To know Dave was to know warmth, humility, and steady kindness. His presence made life calmer, his wisdom eased challenges, and his gentle humor brought comfort. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.
