Ramon was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Ralph and Antonia Sedillo. He graduated
from Albuquerque High School, where he competed in swimming, diving, and baseball.
At the age of 18, Ramon enlisted in the Marines and served in Korea. He served one tour in
the Marines, and then enlisted in the Navy.
Before enlisting in the Navy, Ramon met Cynthia Mabery at the Veterans' Hospital in
Albuquerque. She was a secretary at the hospital, and he was a patient. He asked her to
buy him a coke, and that led to 68 years of marriage and three children.
Ramon had assignments in Hawaii, White Sands Missile Range, San Francisco, San Diego,
Hawaii again, Viet Nam, and San Diego again. When he retired from the Navy, he settled in
San Diego and went to work for the La Jolla Post Office.
Ramon was an avid golfer, and after retiring from the Post Office he worked for several years
as a starter at the Miramar Golf Course. He also bowled in several leagues in Hawaii, White
Sands, and San Diego.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; three sons, Leslie, Christopher, and Rafael; daughter-in-law,
Ronda; five grandchildren, Ashley Sedillo, Tom Sedillo, Lindsay Proctor, Dustin Sedillo,
and Anthony Sedillo; and several great grandchildren.
He will be missed.
