Ricci Boulware was born on September 9, 1963, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Keith Boulware and Frances Webb. Ricci spent his early childhood in Muskogee, where his beloved Grandma Dee Dee, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins were an important part of his life.
Ricci proudly joined the United States Navy and served his country honorably for 20 years. During his military career, he worked as a Supply Technical Specialist, Air Transportation Specialist, and Storekeeper. His dedication, discipline, and commitment to service were recognized through several honors, including the Kuwait Liberation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Navy Unit Commendation. His years of service reflected both his strong work ethic and his deep sense of duty.
He also spent his civilian duties working at Staples in the Copy and Print Service for some time with his oldest daughter and later switched to working at Office Depot in the same department. In addition, he spent his mornings working with ATT services and UCSD Health.
Beyond his military service and civilian work, Ricci was known for his free spirit, optimism, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. He was a devoted fan of the San Diego Chargers and enjoyed spending time bowling, playing the Lotto, and hanging out at his favorite restaurant, Applebee’s. He valued time with family and friends, and his presence brought joy, laughter, and lasting memories to those around him.
Ricci was a Father to his three children: Sylvanus, Clarissa, and Maleah. One of the last times everyone was in San Diego, he took his kids to SeaWorld and even though he was in some pain that day, he still wanted to go on some of the rides, including Electric Eel. This is one of the many times that he would enjoy going to amusement parks, because he was an adventurous guy.
Ricci passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, at Sharp Medical Center in Chula Vista, California, surrounded by numerous loved ones.
Ricci was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Webb; brothers Johnathan Webb, Wyly Webb, and Donald “Baby” Criner; sisters Jockeline Webb and Donna Criner.
He leaves behind his father, Keith Boulware; his stepmother, Eva Boulware; his brother, Toby Webb; his sister, Yasmeen Boulware; his brother-in-law, Plasant Abraham; his son, Sylvanus Boulware; his daughters, Clarissa and Maleah Boulware; his partner, Hilda Meza; along with a host of family members and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
Ricci’s life was marked by service, resilience, and love for those closest to him. He touched everyone that he crossed paths with and will be forever remembered.
