Richard Raymond Quisano Sr, 81, of Spring Valley, California, passed away on April 1, 2019 at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Committal services with a military funeral honors ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 25 at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, California, 92122. Richard was born May 12, 1937 in Hilo, Hawaii to Juan and Eugenia (Marcello) Quisano. He graduated from Farrington High School in 1955 and joined the United States military immediately at the young age of 18. He married Josephine (Menor) in 1957 and resided in Aiea, Hawaii for the first few years of their marriage. After retiring from his military service, they made their permanent home in the San Diego suburb of Spring Valley, California where they raised their four children. Richard was most proud of his service in the United States Navy, from which he retired as a Yeoman First Class. In his most recent retirement years, he was an avid sports fan. Though he liked most sports, he enjoyed watching professional and college football most of all. His other favorite types of entertainment were watching movies and his weekly visit to the local casinos. Richard is survived by his daughters, Joyce Hunter and her husband Craig of Spring Valley, CA, Beatrice Quisano of Honolulu, HI, Bernice Quisano of Spring Valley, CA and son Richard Quisano Jr of Spring Valley, CA; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine in 2012, and parents, Juan and Eugenia. Thank you to the staff at Naval Medical Center San Diego Units 4 West, Nephrology and Cardiology, and a special thank you to Corpsman Baker, Corpsman Ellis, Dr. Shagun Chopra and Lt. Makiko Clark for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Miramar Memorial Services for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.

Very sad to hear that Auntie lost her brave fight against cancer. While we only met a dozen times, she always had a smile and a very helpful spirit, full of energy. Dad (her brother Villamor) spoke fondly of her. Our family's condolences to Richard and family.
