Riley Eugene Ramsey was born on August 21, 1928 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Mr. Charles & Rosie Ramsey. At an early age, Riley moved with his family to San Diego, Ca. He served in the United States Army as a military police officer. He was married to Mrs. Elma M. Ramsey, who preceded him in death. Riley was employed by San Diego Gas & Electric for 31 years as a Blacksmith. After retiring from SDG&E, Riley joined the Mission San Diego community and quickly became a faithful, devoted and hard-working parishioner. He served as a Sacristan, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a member of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Team, and a Catholic Ministry volunteer at Kaiser Hospital. Riley was a lifetime member of the Masons. Riley enjoyed country western music and dancing; target shooting; and eating good food. He also traveled on pilgrimages to Europe. Mr. Riley Ramsey's services will be held on Monday, February 22nd at 9:30 a.m. at the Mission San Diego de Alcalá, located at 10818 San Diego Mission Rd., with burial to follow at El Camino Memorial Park.
