Rita Mae Tambornino January 1, 1926 – June 19, 2016 San Diego — Born in Mankato, Minnesota, Rita Tambornino celebrated her 90th birthday in January. She was the youngest of six with three sisters and two brothers and moved to Point Loma in 1953.Always gracious and the epitome of class, Rita was cherished by eight nieces and nephews and their 19 children and 31 grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her colorful wit, green thumb, lucky red Bingo dauber and heart of gold.Services will be held June 23, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at 2802 Cadiz Street, San Diego, CA 92110, with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 11:30 a.m.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Academy at the address listed above; or Sharp HospiceCare’s LakeView Home at 9472 Loren Drive, La Mesa, CA 91942.
