

Robert Hardie Kaelble was born October 1st, 1953, to the late David and Elaine Kaelble in St Paul, Minnesota. Robert passed away peacefully on October 18th ,2022 at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife, Joaquina Abrego Kaelble, and his three children Teresa Abrego, Elizabeth Voorhees, and Gregorio Ramos, as well as his grandchildren Elyse (3), Eric (10), Quetzalli (13), Ayelen (18), Jesus (22), Miguel (34), and Juan Carlos (29). Robert loved his wife and family unconditionally.
He is a Retired Navy Veteran, having last served on the naval vessel “The Enterprise” as a nuclear submarine electrician. He continued his loyal service as a civilian employee at San Diego Marine Corps Recruit Depot as a humble Grounds Keeper.
Robert took whole-hearted pride in his military discipline and felt that it was very formative in his life. He was also very passionate about astronomy and shared this passion with his children by moon gazing using his telescope. Robert was a culinary enthusiast and loved his wife Joaquina’s Central American cooking nearly as much as she enjoyed preparing meals. He was also quite the historian and had an extensive history book collection that he loved to read. Most of all, Robert had a great sense of humor that he shared with everyone around him.
