Bob was born on September 9, 1958 to George Harris Madara and Clara Louise Madara in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He joined the Navy in 1977 as a Corpsman and took his first duty Station in San Diego where he met his first wife and started a beautiful family. Bob’s twenty-year Naval career also took him to the Philippines and in 1991 to Guam where he eventually met and married Jocelyn Silvestre, the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. After Bob’s retirement from active duty in the Navy, he continued his career with the Navy as a civilian. He and Jocelyn settled in Temecula, California and together they also created a beautiful, loving family, and built an amazing life filled with wonderful memories and abundant love.
Bob was known for his welcoming personality. He never met a stranger. Bob was always the first person to greet a new neighbor with a friendly smile, and if you were lucky, one of his famous cheesecakes. He enjoyed cooking and baking and took pride in feeding everyone around him. Bob’s house was THAT house, the one everyone wanted an invitation to. Him and Jocelyn were just beginning to enjoy life as almost empty nesters, having raised all their children, it was going to be their time to soon enjoy retirement and travel. Bob watched as his children and grandchildren navigated their paths in life and he took every opportunity to share their successes and blessings with everyone he knew, he was so proud of all of them.
Bob was met at the gates of Heaven by his father, George H. Madara; mother, Clara L. Madara; daughter, Christina C.E. Madara; brothers, David H. and George J. Madara; father-in-law, Amadeo Silvestre; mother-in-law, Felicidad Silvestre; and his first wife, Thuy Pham Madara.
Bob’s memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of his wife, Jocelyn S. Madara; his children, Monique Aquino (Joselen “Jay”), Madeleine Madara (Eric Rivas), Jacqueline Madara, and Jeorge Madara; his grandchildren, Jathan, Christina, Jacob, and Gabriel Aquino, and Gabriel Alexander Rivas; and his grandpups, Nala and Flynn.
He will also be remembered fondly by his sister, Patricia L. Madara (Norma Davis); brother-in-law, Danny Silvestre (Leonila Magbiro); sisters-in-law, Emily Bongat (Dominador), Jofel Silvestre, and Amafel Silvestre; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that became family.
