I have been trying to locate "Rudy" Vencer for years.  I served with him on the USS Hermitage during the 1970s.  He was a top notch Sailor and at that time, he was a First Class Petty Officer.  He did me a huge favor when he prepared my discharge papers, but at the time, I did not realize how big of a favor he did for me.  I have wanted to find him and thank him SO many times over the years, but have not been able to find him.  I only learned of where he was living, but that he had passed, this morning, January 15 2024.  If anyone in the family can contact me, it would be Most appreciated. Next time  any of the family goes to his burial site, please tell him that I married a Filipina!

Just saw this and it made me very sad.  I met Rodolfo in the Navy and he was more than just my chief petty officer, he was a mentor.  He was a very firm and straight leader but fair and loving.  Condolences to the entire family, my good friend rest in peace.  May God's glory shine upon you.

I will always remember my father-in-law for being many things.  A do-it-yourselfer who could change your oil, hem your pants,  build you a desk, or bake you a tray of bibingka.  A humble man who could buy everyone at the steak house dinner, but showed up in his same old jeans and same favorite shirt while paying the bill.  A family man, who would do anything and everything for his family, even driving three hours just to drop off my kids’ leftover holiday gifts we couldn’t fit in our car.  Thanks for being all these things, Dad, especially for being a wonderful grandpa to Vivian and AJ. I can’t thank you enough for that.  You will be missed dearly and loved always.

My papa was so creative. One of my favorite memories of him was when I asked him to make me a pair of shoes. He took two sheets of paper from his desk (which he crafted himself) and placed both of my feet on top of them. He traced the outline of my foot and used tape to make me paper shoes. My papa always spoiled my brother and I, and he would wake up at 5 in the morning to buy us pandesal. Although these last few years with my papa have been quite unique, I will always remember him as the kind, caring, and creative papa that he was. Thank you for everything Papa. I miss you already and I will love you forever. Please come visit me. 

Mr. Vercer was a very generous and kind man. I recall attending a family gathering with lots of food. The food looked inviting and was very delicious! There was so much food I felt like I was in a restaurant. Mr. Vercer kept encouraging everyone to eat and eat some more. I definitely took him up on his gracious invitation! To see everyone eating and having a great time,  brought so much joy to his heart. Mr. Vencer will definitely be missed. He loved his family. This memory will forever be in my heart. R.I.P. 🙏🏽💕

My dad was the first man in my life, my hero, my protector our family's everything. I am grateful for him giving me 52 years of his life and love, all unconditionally.  I can take comfort in knowing that he is resting in peace. I know that he will always be with us each and every day and that he will live through all 3 of his grandkids who brought him so much joy and love. We love you so very much dad and I hope that we have made you proud.
