Rodora “Dory” Ramirez Payumo was born on January 31, 1956, in Olongapo City, Philippines to Rosario Ramirez and Magligtas Payumo. She graduated from St. James High School, and later earned a degree of Midwifery from Arellano University in Manila, Philippines.
As a child, Dory always dreamed of becoming a nurse so that she could help people in need. That dream came into fruition when she moved to the United States. Dory loved her job as a nurse and received many accolades for her accomplishments. But for her, nursing was much more than just a job or a dream realized - it was the very essence of who she was, the calling that shaped her existence. Every smile, gentle touch, every moment of kindness, was a testament to her boundless compassion and unshakable devotion.
Dory was also a devoted wife to her partner, Pat and a dedicated and loving mother to her children - her son, Francis and daughter, Khristina. They were her pride and joy, and she loved them fiercely. One of the biggest blessings in Dory’s life was when she became a grandmother to her only grandchild, Arabella. Dory loved spending time with her apo and always showered Arabella with lots of love and plenty of gifts, just like any Lola would.
Dory passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, and was surrounded by her family in her final days. She is survived by her long-time partner, Pat, her children, Francis and Khristina, son-in-law, Brian and her granddaughter, Arabella. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Monica, Reynaldo, Leonora, Jean, Joseph and Helen Rose.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
