Roland Dean Harvey

Roland was born June 13, 1961 to Lawrence Anthony Gallucci and Dian Elaine Holloway in Fontana, CA. After graduating Upland High in 1979, he entered service with the United States Navy where he served on the USS Swordfish (SSN 579) from July 1979 to July 1983 as a Teletype Repairman and Helmsman and was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal and received a CO Letter of Commendation. He also served in the Navy Reserve for two years following active duty. Roland then entered the new home construction industry where he served as a Customer Service Representative for about 33 years where he received numerous commendations for exemplary service.

In December of 1980, Roland met Cynthia Lott and they wed on September 24, 1981 in Hawaii going on to have four children, Michael, Steven, Dian and Richard.

After retiring in 2018 due to an injury, Roland spent time kayaking on area lakes and at Oceanside Harbor. He loved the beach and the outdoors. He also loved watching NASCAR and other auto racing, Thunder Boat racing and football.

Roland is predeceased by his father in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Harvey, his mother Dian Harvey, his brother Lawrence Harvey, his four children: Michael Dean Harvey, Steven Kenneth Harvey, Dian Michelle Harvey and Richard Lawrence Harvey and by his two granddaughters Kaiden Harvey and Shelby Harvey.

A visitation for Roland Dean Harvey will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Pacific Beach – La Jolla Chapel, Dignity Memorial, 4710 Cass Street, San Diego, CA 92109. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 4710 Cass Street, San Diego, CA 92109. A committal service with military honors will occur Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr., San Diego, CA 92122.
