

San Diego, CA - Romer Tejada Fajota entered the Kingdom of Heaven on June 17, 2021 at the age of 60. Romer was a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, son, and brother. He is survived by his wife Lilibeth D. Fajota; his two children Noah and Desiree Fajota; his three grandchildren Solomon, Seth, and Trinity Fajota; his parents Ramon and Ginhawa Fajota; and his siblings Alma Ferstle, Miriam Fajota-Pritchett, Ofelia Oakry, and Nolan Fajota.
Romer was born in the Philippines on January 23, 1961. Son of a Navy man, he spent his childhood throughout Virginia, South Carolina, California, and Washington. In his youth, Romer played baseball, football, was Battalion Commander in ROTC, and played every instrument in the band. In 1979, Romer married Lilibeth and they started their lives in Augusta, GA, where he worked as a choir director for St. Mary Catholic Church and was involved in the Filipino-American Association.
Eventually, Romer and his family settled in San Diego, CA where they built a vibrant life together. A true renaissance man, Romer was talented in many fields, working as a Southwestern Cable service technician, a choir director at Good Shepherd and St. Kateri Tekakwitha parishes, a sales associate for Bergman Luggage, and a machine operator supervisor at Oasis Materials.
Romer was a highly engaged community member, forming part of many athletic and musical activities. He coached baseball, serving on the Board of Directors for Mira Mesa Little league, was assistant band director for the Mira Mesa Sapphire Sound from 1998-1999, and offered private music lessons for over 20 years. He also played in softball and bowling leagues. Additionally, Romer was the director for Back in Time (BIT), a show choir for performers of all ages, from 2000-2016, leaving a legacy of song and dance for countless people, young and old.
Viewings will be held at El Camino on June 30 and Good Shepherd on July 1, both from 4:00-8:00 pm. Funeral will be at Good Shepherd on July 2 at 10:00 am and the burial at El Camino at 11:30 am. Reception to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic School gymnasium.
