

Rosann was born in Colver, PA a small coal mining town in beautiful Cambria Country.
She was predeceased by her husband Alvin Masacek, her son Mark Masacek Sr., brothers Walter, John, Michael, Paul and sisters Sophie (Washic) and Mary (Stevens). Survivors include; sons James, David, Matthew and Michael, three grandchildren, 14 nieces and nephews.
Rosann left her small town for New Jersey to be trained by Bell Telephone and became a switchboard operator. Next she moved to Detroit to train and work at Northwest Orient Airlines. While in Detroit Rosann met her husband Al. They settled in Mt. Clemens, MI where she gave birth to five sons. Tragically her husband Al passed away unexpectedly in 1960. Four years later Rosann and her five sons relocated to San Diego, CA. She worked Civil Service for the US Navy and transitioned to the Social Security Administration where she retired. Rosann was a phenomenal baker, cook and mother who showered her children with wonderful meals, unconditional love and the meaning of faith.
The family sincerely thanks all the medical providers and staff of Scripps Green Hospital for all the love and care they extended to Rosann over many years which improved the quality of her life. Also Interim Gift of Hospice and Calle De Vida (senior care home) for their comfort and care.
Viewing at Beardsley Mitchell Funeral Home Tuesday January 31, 2017 and a funeral mass will be held Wednesday February 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2802 Cadiz Street, San Diego.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in name of Rosann Masacek to Scripps Health Foundation San Diego.
