Ross Korder Climo was born on May 23, 1956 in Cleveland Ohio. Ross grew up in Euclid, Ohio where he was a talented tennis player at Euclid High School – going to the state championship with his doubles partner. Much to his mother’s chagrin, Ross’ Dad started to call him Buster – which then turned into a succession of related nicknames of Buzzy, Buzz & Buzzo (all of which he shed as he got older). Ross went on to attend Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio, but after a year transferred to Ohio State University where he graduated with a degree in Accounting.
Shortly after graduation, Ross picked up stakes and moved to California, living for the next 40 years in San Diego California. Ross worked for a succession of companies for which he provided accounting, financial and human resources support. One of his longest employments was with Fuji Photo Processing, where he was in sales and accounting, spending one year of that position working out of the headquarters in New York. When the photo processing business became obsolete, Ross and his wife Alma, decided he’d work from home and devote his energies to raising their daughter Jade Skye. Recently, Ross took a position with American Airlines, a job that he truly enjoyed.
Ross was preceded in death by his father, James Climo. He is survived by his wife Alma, daughter Jade and stepchildren Sirena & Miles Merritt, his mother Thea Climo, his sisters Lynne Finta (brother-in-law John & nephew James) and Beth Climo (brother-in-law Bob Bourgoin) and Maui, the still young dog he rescued from the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter for Jade’s 10th birthday. A real people person, Ross was a man who enjoyed and related to everyone, had a great sense of humor, and loved life and lived it to the fullest. He also adored the animals, both cats and dogs, who lived with him throughout his life. Most of all, Ross was a devoted father, husband, son and brother who will be missed immensely by all who knew him.
