Roxann Mary Lemley

Roxann Mary Cochran Lemley (Roxie), age 61, passed away suddenly on Saturday August 29, 2015, after a long illness, at Scripps Prebys Cardiovascular Institute Medical Center, La Jolla, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 9, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of Dale Lee Cochran and LaVonne Marie Schoening. Her Family moved to California in 1962, when Roxie was 9 years old. She has been a long time resident of Pacific Beach since 1964. She attended Mission Bay High School in Pacific Beach and graduated High School. She married the love of her life, Rod Lemley, in Pacific Beach, on May 1,1970. They lived in Pacific Beach all of their married life. She began at the San Diego Zoo in 1980 in Food Services, serving in a variety of lead and administrative positions. Roxie had a heart for animals. She loved working at the Zoo, loved her dogs, cats and loved her daughter and her Husband. Roxie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Rod and Daughter Jennifer. She also is survived by one Brother, Kirk Cochran and his partner Gene and one sister, Chris Trelease and her husband John. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Debie Ables, husband Tom, and their children Tom and Rick. She leaves many cousins and other relatives. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am.,Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church in Pacific Beach. Reception will follow.
