We have so many fond memories of Satyen Bhaisahib, whom we affectionately addressed as Lala Bhaisahib. 

We looked forward to his and Sneh Bhabhi's annual India visits, mostly in winter and  had lovely get_togethers at our hometown Sambhar and also in Jaipur.  

A couple of months back I  had a long enjoyable conversation with him . He was embellishing his culinary skills and was damn happy that his samosas turned out real great! 

He had great admiration for our mother and as a school student, he would often discuss  debate topics with her. The one he always recalled was "Vigyan Dharm ko dhaaran kar Kalyan Vishwa ka karta hai" ( The true religion of Science is to imbibe the virtues for the welfare of the world ).

It was a curious coincidence that our elder brother Krishna Mohan was also called Lala with affection. Both of them were great friends and it was remarkable that both of them rose from a non_descript town to make a mark  for themselves at international level.  Both of them travelled all over the world but stayed connected to their roots in India,  particularly to the hometown Sambhar Lake. 

Satyen Bhaisahib will be greatly missed by all of us. His jovial voice, 'Hey Abha, what's up' still rings in my ears as I pen this.  The fun at Taapri  won't be the same without him. 

Everytime I visit Sambhar now, a look at his ancestral haveli will bring back all the nostalgic memories.

My memories of Satyan Bansal go back to six decades. It is an end of era for our family relations which go back to nearly a century. For me he was an elder brother ( bhai Sahib), friend and an intimate family member. We share same home town ( Sambhar Lake) in Northern India and our ancestral homes are at 100!yards distance to each other.
Heartfelt condolences to Sneh Bhabiji and family. Your memories will always be alive .
Will miss you, my Lala bhai Sahib.
